
In May of this year Alabama passed the Human Life Protection Act, or also known as the Alabama Abortion Ban. The successful execution of the most profound challenge of Roe vs. Wade stoked the egos of lawmakers, who sought more. Two months later, amid various protests, lawmakers passed a bill to ban protests of the Abortion Ban.
Gary Palmer, a representative from Alabama, gloated, “Damn, this is easy. And it’s only July!” When asked about potential challenges ahead in federal courts, he exuded confidence again stating, “Yes, there might be a few bumps along the road, no pun intended, but I got a buddy in the Supreme Court. We like beer and drank beer together. We’ll be fine.”
