Alyssa Milano accuses NASA of Sexist Celebration of Apollo 11 Moon Landing

No stranger to instigating internet conflict, actress Alyssa Milano eviscerated NASA online today, accusing the government institution chartered with exploring and researching space of “blatant sexism and male supremacy.”

Setting Twitter and Instagram afire, Milano complained, “Why should we celebrate two men going to the Moon!? What did we really get out of that? A bunch of men in a capsule drinking together, giving each other high fives?”

Several male and female NASA scientists and astronauts, including those on the international space station, posted clarifications and replies on social media. Milano then accused NASA of creating bots to mimic intelligent and rational replies.

Showing they are not without a sense of humor, NASA subsequently released a fake moon landing video with ponytails hanging out of the astronauts’ helmets to quell the incensed Milano. An anonymous spokesperson from NASA indicated this project was already part of the Harris 2020 “You Can Dream It, You Can Do It” empowerment video and served to turn the tables on Milano’s outrage. “We used dark hair for the Alyssa video. We understand Kamala’s team has asked for a version that tweaks the skin color too.”
