Creating solutions for all segments of the fitness market, Fitbit is releasing the QuitBit to help seniors achieve their fitness goals, without going overboard. Because going overboard for seniors could have serious deleterious effects, the product includes new, innovative features.
Unlike standard Fitbits which help track running, swimming, and cycling activities, the QuitBit will track walking, golfing, canasta, and knitting. Real-time analytics will help differentiate true max heart rate resulting from actual treadmill exercise vs. a treadmill solitaire victory, for example. Also, a very large display along with loud alarms will notify seniors when it is time to quit. And finally, a large emergency button will have the ability to notify ambulance services while sending location information.
