The UK, defying Trump and US intelligence warnings about Chinese company Huawei, has allowed the 5G infrastructure provider into their country to build a backbone. British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab explained, “Look, we haven’t had a backbone since the Pilgrims left so it’s about time we got one. Yes, their CFO evaded sanctions and did business with Iran, but that’s exactly why she told me ‘I give you good price!’ That was enough for me.”
Though the terms of the agreement limit Huawei’s access to the core part of the network and limit the telecom giant’s equipment to only peripheral equipment like base stations and antennae, US intelligence and the CDC have specifically warned of robust Chinese viruses.
