Yes, the ever-powerful swing state citizens, whose in-depth interviews by countless news organizations subjected us all to the desperate grasp at hope in another polarized election, are the persons of the year.  We learned about the way they brush their teeth, where they shop for groceries, and what they watch on TV, with nail-biting anticipation that they might grace the nation with a vote to save humanity.  Whether impulsively or arbitrarily, they did it and we owe them all our praise, attention, and focus in another 4 years.
