Chamapathanayamasrinireddy Brahmamurthypettiluru took first place in the Scripps 2021 Spelling Bee, winning on the genome sequence of SARS-CoV-2.  The Scripps 2022 Spelling Bee Committee will add several variants to the list – both existing as well as upcoming ones to emerge from Texas and other petri dish states.
