Saudi Arabia in Search of Trans Actors While Securing Middle Eastern Film Capital Status

Home to ruthless tyrants, religious police, journalist assassinators, and crushers of women’s and humanitarian rights, Saudi Arabia is trying to establish itself as the film capital of the Middle East. Many Hollywood sellouts have also supported this endeavor but have had to maneuver around cultural roadblocks in creating films with female roles.

American Hollywood producer Ken Hartford explains, “Look, this is a great opportunity. So what if Saudi women have no rights? I can import men looking to transition to women for female roles that women can’t take locally. It allows me to look woke, while making more money on the backs of regular, traditional injustices. Burkas also make things very easy here. Just a little bit of eyebrow wax and eye makeup go a long way. No need to sell women’s bodies on screen like I do back home.”
