Not to be outdone by MLB The Show 24, which is a revised version of the game that now offers a career mode to create female players, Madden NFL tried but fell short of celebrating women in the same way.

Guided by an 80s minded Madden himself, EA’s inclusion of women in football only added cheerleaders, girlfriends, and moms to the game.  After the initial flop, Madden decided to double down and feature swimsuit models as well.  Despite a gigantic uptick in users, the app was eventually brought down by the FTC for violating terms and conditions of apps provided to minors, as well as making the poor assumption and stereotype that cheerleaders, girlfriends, and moms are always female.
